Then the Keyport Public Library needs you for its Friends of the Library Group! Meetings are held the Third Tuesday of every month in the Children’s Section at 7 PM. Get your paint, pencils, crayons, and imagination ready! We want to see your art on the annual Keyport Public Library ornament! Show us your talent by illustrating this theme: “READING IS MY SUPER POWER!” Submissions will be accepted Saturday 07/29/2017 through Saturday 08/05/2017. The winner will be announced on Saturday, 08/12/2017.

Masquerade Soirée on the Bay
On Friday, 08/25/2017, the Friends of the Keyport Public Library would like to invite you to a Masquerade Soirée on the Bay – A fundraiser for the Keyport Public Library. A night of tempting hors d’oeuvres, tantalizing spirits, & mystery gifts. Don’t forget to wear your mask as you enter and listen to the classical melodies performed by our entertainers – sure to stimulate your sense throughout this enchanted evening. $50 / person…$75 for couples 65 and over. 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm at 42 1st Street in Keyport

Third Annual Scarecrow Contest
2017 marks the third anniversary of this popular event during the Halloween/harvest season that brings out the creativity in the entire Keyport community to see who can decorate the winning scarecrow in a number of categories. Competition is steep, but so is the fun! Date TBA in the autumn.

Annual Used Book Drive and Sale
Have too many books for your shelves to handle? Donate them to our annual book drive, then come to our annual book sale to refill all that room you made! Date TBA in the autumn.

Annual Ornament Sale
Our annual holiday ornaments are always a popular gift for the library enthusiast in your life. This year, we will feature the design of the winner of our Art Contest! Date TBA during the holiday season.

Don’t have time to volunteer but would like to help? For just $10, you can buy a custom designed Friends of the Library tote! They make great gifts and can be filled with books, gardening gear, etc!






Dog gone school cover Or for just $15, pick up a signed copy of “Dog-Gone School” by acclaimed photographer and author duo, Ron and Amy Schmidt of Loose Leashes. Filled with clever dog portraits and poems,  it’s a fantastic book for young and old alike. Former Keyport residents, the Schmidts have very generously donated ALL proceeds of book sales to the Keyport Public Library!
